i'm a mac. I switched over like 8 months ago and I haven't looked back. You just can't compare a PC to a MAC after you actually USE one, and I don't mean using the mac's at school or borrowing your friends mac for a couple minutes I mean OWNING ONE. I've never had my computer crash, it never has to "unexpectedly quit ___ program" it's FAST without all that extra RAM (1GB is enough, 2GB is better) -however, I have 4GB in mine because I was such a PC person -_- LOL, it's expensive, BUT at the same time take a look around your coffee shop. The MAC's that you see around are about 5 years old and they're still running strong. My uncle has has his powerbook since 2004, there are NO problems with it. If something goes wrong, you just take it to your local Apple store to get it fixed. ALSO if you want the extended warranty you get the entire first year of purchase of the machine to get the extended warranty. Most people wait until just before the one year is up and buy the extra (2 or 3 years I can't remember which right now) and extend their warranty for way longer!
ALSO it's so customizable! you can't tweak everything! it's awesome it's truly MY computer, there aren't really any generic settings and WOW the preloaded programs! they're NOT FREE TRIALS!
Honestly all you need to buy with a MAC is a word processor, BUT if you don't want to spend the money there's a word processor written for MAC that's free and compatible with MS WORD. (or you could get it off a torrent that's what I did ;]

I CANNOT GET A VIRUS ON MY COMPUTER!!!!!



however, My boyfriend is an HP and I must say HP's are some SEXY looking computers. WOW.

His keeps fk'n up though, it goes into panic mode and for some reason scrolling on the trackpad doesn't work. it's super annoying, that computer has problems and it's younger than mine. and I got mine refurbished!

i've been thinkingg about getting a MAC buht their so expensivee & HP's are cuterr . my HP has problemss, i cant keep it on for more then an hour with out the task bar messinq uppp -__- idk wahts wrong with it its weird. ive already spent $300 @ circuit city to fix it buht its still effed upp. oh well .

buht ill probaby get a MAC the next timee i go laptop shOpping.

same with my boyfriends HP. and that $300 you spent fixing it could have made up the difference between that hp and a macbook, just a thought.

yeah and also, is that extra $300 you spent FIXING it worth it for being "cuter" and unable to be on for longer than an hour?

ive had all types of regular pcs, and they all crashed due too viruses, ive had my mac for 7 months and i love it the only thing is the battery dies so quicky !

really it should last you a good 4-5 hours though... maybe you should take it in to the apple store and have them take a look at it. Maybe you need a battery calibration or a batter update that you haven't done yet??

i got my mac book in oct of 08 i love it, its my baby lol. pc is just so blahh to me now.

currently i am a PC person but im dying to get a Mac. i was so close to buying a Macbook 3-4 times til my fiance started to get all mad when i was talking about buying them. that usually means shes planning on buying it for me since our anniversary is coming up.

people say macs are just the "it" thing. but when you think about it, if it really is just the new thing, why do so many people recommend them especially at their price? they have to be doing something right in order for people to recommend right?

i was an HP for about 12 years of my life. switched over to APPLE because of school. easy transition. i'm very happy with my macbook.

I doubt they can outlast a MAC though. But they are pretty stable machines (sort of)
