February Competition: Show the Love!

Yea, we got in the spirit of Valentine's Day, and wanted to acknowledge our deepest of loves, our most serious crushes, our longstanding commitments...our KICKS! Show the world how much you love yours, get featured on FSF and win a pair of exclusive New Balance "Chicken Run" kicks! (See glam shots below...)

We'll award 2 winners, 1 for Best Love Poem, and 1 for Best Love Pic.

Sound crazy? Here are some examples to get you started...

Sneaker HAIKU...

Haikus are a traditional form of Japanese poetry that is based on a set length of syllables per line.  The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables and the last line has 5 syllables again.  Like this…

Gotta have sick kicks
Hightops, shelltoes, and smooooth suede
Female sneaker fiend.

Girl’s got kicks. Check ‘em.
Stacks of boxes. She’s no joke.
And always fiendin’…

Guys try to copy
Ha! No competing with this girl’s
Killer collection.

This is how it works:
Submit yours to FSF
Win New Balance kicks!

Of course yours doesn't have to be a haiku...it could be as simple as "Roses are red, violets are blue, don't hate cuz I wear my sneakers better than you!" Okay, maybe not...

Sneaker Love Pics...

Could be a photo, could be art. Here are two older examples from Jovon (left) and Georgie.

Show us your passion! You can enter as often as you'd like, but make sure you enter by February 29th. Winners will be posted on the site and receive one free pair of exclusive New Balance "Chicken Run" kicks. (Attach your image or poem to an email that includes your name, age and location, and send it to us at: submissions@ femalesneakerfiend.com)

These exclusive kicks are named in honor of New Balance's founder, William J. Riley, who once said that the human foot is like a chicken foot, because both have three main contact and pressure points. The shoe pays homage to his vision with details like his signature on the inside of the tongue and a screen printed pattern depicting a chicken turning into a runner! This limited release is due out April1st , but you can get yours early and FREE! Thanks NB!

And here's one more poem for you...

Happy Valentine's Day!
